Overview
HealthNet supports the networking infrastructure of the Health Science Center and buildings associated with health-related colleges. HealthNet manages the transportation of your data and video within buildings, ceilings and walls to your network outlet. HealthNet provides a single point of contact for all new or existing network wiring and work area outlets (WAO) outlets. We do NOT provide support for computers, servers, software, or email (Please contact your Department IT Coordinator).
Colleges or Departments are billed a monthly port charge for each active port (See HealthNet Billing). Port activations or deactivations are also billed a one time charge. We recommend you consult your department’s information technology (IT) staff or local area network administrators (LAN) for assistance before requesting a status change to your port(s). Included with your monthly fee are the scheduled life-cycle upgrades to the network infrastructure equipment and repairs. For more information, please see the HealthNet Service Level Objectives.
Port Inventory
In order to produce an accurate port count HealthNet has implemented a web based port identification system. You can view the ports billed to your department at Port Inventory. Select your College or Administrative Group and then select your department. Review your connections (each row is one (1) active connection).
Please note that the account number assigned to the room found in the UF maintained space file determines ownership of the port. If the room listed is not assigned to your department please contact UF Facilities, Planning, and Construction at 273-4000 to transfer the space.
If you find any other discrepancies including the number of assigned ports, please contact the Intrastructure Project Manager at HealthNet. In the email message explain the problem and HealthNet will investigate the connection and make the appropriate corrections and/or adjustments.
