IP Phone Guide

This page offers instructions for making calls and using enhanced IP telephony features. It includes handbook / userguides for individual VoIP handsets.

 

 

Dialing Instructions

To place a call, lift the handset and dial as follows:

UF   Last 5 Digits of telephone number
Shands   5 + 5-Digit Extension
Local Call   9 + 7-Digit Phone Number
Ext. Area (Volusia) 9 + 7-Digit Phone Number
Long Distance   9 + 1 + (Area Code) + 7-Digit Phone Number
International   9 + 011 + Country Code + Phone Number
Information (Local) 9 + 1 + 411
Information (LD) 9 + 1 + (Area Code) + 555-1212

 

 

Feature Instructions

To answer an incoming call

  • Lift the handset, or
  • Press the "speaker" button to answer hands-free, or
  • Press the corresponding "answer" soft-key button in the display


To end a call

  • Return the handset to the cradle, or
  • Press the "speaker" button if using the hands-free mode, or
  • Press the corresponding "end call" soft keyin the display

 

To place a call on hold

  • While on the call, press the corresponding "hold" soft key
  • To return to the call, press the corresponding "resume" soft key
  • If more than one call is on hold, use the scroll keys to select the call (that is on hold) before pressing the corresponding "resume" key

 

To transfer a call

  • While on the call, press the corresponding "transfer" soft key
  • Dial the number of the extension you wish to transfer the call to
  • When the party answers, announce that you are about to transfer a call
  • If the party agrees to accept the transfer, press the corresponding "transfer" soft key again and hang up.
  • If the party you wish to transfer to does not answer, press the corresponding "end call" then "resume" soft keys to reconnect to the original call

 

Last number redial

  • Lift the handset and press the corresponding "redial" soft key
    • (dials the last number that was dialed on the number keypad)

 

Parking a call

  • To park a call while on a call, press the corresponding "park" soft key
    • Note the Call Park extension number that appears in the display.
  • To retrieve a parked call from any VoIP phone: Lift the handset and dial the Call Park extension that appeared in the display

 

To place a conference call

  • While on an active call, press the corresponding "more" soft key then the "ConFrn" soft key
  • Place a second call to the party you wish to add to the call
  • When the second call answers, press the "ConFrn" soft key again to connect all parties
  • If the second party does not answer, press the "end call" soft key to disconnect, then the "resume" soft key to reconnect to the original call

 

To use Call Forward

  • Press the corresponding "CfwdAll"
    • Two "beeps" will sound
  • Dial the number that will receive the forwarded calls
  • To set voicemail to answer immediately, type "10000"
  • To Cancel Call Forward, press the "forward" button.
    • Two "beeps" will sound

 

To use Call Pickup (to answer a call that is ringing at another phone)

  • Lift the handset
  • Press the corresponding "MORE" soft key
  • Press the corresponding "pickup" soft key
    • The call should now begin to ring on your phone
  • Press the corresponding "answer" soft key
